The Tenpenny Villages Benefice of Alresford, Elmstead and Frating with Thorrington

St Anne & St Laurence Parish Church

Elmstead, Colchester, Essex.

We try to be a welcoming and inclusive church. People of all ages and faith backgrounds can find a home at St Anne & St Laurence Church.

On Thursday 14th January 2016 The Rt Rev Roger Morris, Bishop of Colchester, accompanied by The Venerable Annette Cooper, Archdeacon of Colchester, Licensed and Installed Rev Pauline Scott as Priest-in-Charge of Elmstead, Rev Pauline Hart as Curate and John Harper as Reader.

Introduced and witnessed by Rev Guy Thorburn, this unifies the new benefice of Alresford, Elmstead, Frating with Thorrington within the Deanery of St. Osyth and will also be collectively known as the Tenpenny Villages Benefice.

Members of the PCCs and congregations of the four villages together with Elmstead community leaders attended to witness and welcome the two Paulines and John to Elmstead and the enlarged Benefice.
